Hey Everyone, This week was busy and we continue to search and seek out those who are willing to hear the good message of Jesus Christ.  #prayforeight update: BOOMATAY'S: Things have been worked out and we are on track for the three kids to be baptized by their dad on Sunday, December 4th.  FACEBOOK FINDS: We found two people during our FB finding efforts this week. We are teaching them and will see how things progress. We continue to share messages with ward members and their friends when we are at their homes. We are encouraging all ward families to fill out our Ward Mission Survey so we can help them obtain their goals.  This week we had both District and Zone council meetings and everyone brainstormed the best way to increase our efforts in our areas.  We had interviews with our Mission President this week and I always enjoy sitting in council with President Ames and how he is able to know just what to share with me and that he truly knows who I am.  We did ...

Another HARD Work Week!

Image
Hey Everyone, It's nice to take a minute and share some of the things I'm experiencing as I serve my mission. We had another hard work week and I'm grateful for the opportunity to share the message of the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ with those we come into contact with. I love sharing messages about Jesus Christ and his life and example. I love the scriptures and the stories and truths that help me to become better.  #PRAYFOREIGHT: BOOMATAY'S: Unfortunately, the three baptisms we had scheduled yesterday didn't happen. One of the children has a situation that is confidential and needs to wait a little longer prior to being baptized. The rest of the kids want to wait and be baptized together.  The new baptism date is the first Sunday in December. We will continue to teach and help them all we can to enter the waters of baptism.  PAUL: His baptism date is most likely cancelled due to some very serious personal situations he is facing. We will continue to reach out ...

“Blessed Is He That Keepeth My Commandments”

Hello Everyone, In my personal scripture study this week I was taught/reminded how important it is to keep the commandments and be obedient. In Doctrine and Covenants section 58 verse 2 it says: "For verily I say unto you, blessed is he that keepeth my commandments, whether in life or in death; and he that is faithful in tribulation, the reward of the same is greater in the kingdom of heaven." And, in Mosiah 2:22 it says, "And behold, all that he requires of you is to keep his commandments, and he has promised you that if ye would keep his commandments ye should prosper in the land; and he never doth vary from that which he hath said; therefore, if ye do keep his commandments he doth bless you and prosper you." Obedience is the first law of everything that follows from a loving Heavenly Father! Obedience brings blessings. Obedience brings joy. Obedience allows for growth and stretching. All can enjoy the blessings received by a loving Heavenly Father if we just keep...

A New Month And A New Companion

Hey Everyone, Happy November! Time is flying by here in the mission field! This week I said goodbye to Elder Montoya and hello to Elder Allen! Wow! I'm feeling blessed by the good missionaries I am surrounded by! Elder Allen has actually served in the Overland Park 1st ward about a year ago. It is great to have someone who knows the ward members and his way around. We've had a great first few days working together.  This past week Elder Montoya and I did a Facebook Live event where we were asked questions about being a fulltime missionary. We had several questions sent in and it was a great opportunity to share with everyone the daily life of a missionary.  Unfortunately, I was pretty sick this week. On Wednesday I noticed a few cold symptoms and had already battled an upset stomach earlier in the week. After a full day Wednesday I came home and went straight to bed. I didn't get out the next morning to take Elder Montoya to transfers. I couldn't get out of bed. High fe...
