Turkey Shoot Burgers
Hey Everyone,
This week was busy and we continue to search and seek out those who are willing to hear the good message of Jesus Christ.
#prayforeight update:
BOOMATAY'S: Things have been worked out and we are on track for the three kids to be baptized by their dad on Sunday, December 4th.
FACEBOOK FINDS: We found two people during our FB finding efforts this week. We are teaching them and will see how things progress.
We continue to share messages with ward members and their friends when we are at their homes. We are encouraging all ward families to fill out our Ward Mission Survey so we can help them obtain their goals.
This week we had both District and Zone council meetings and everyone brainstormed the best way to increase our efforts in our areas.
We had interviews with our Mission President this week and I always enjoy sitting in council with President Ames and how he is able to know just what to share with me and that he truly knows who I am.
We did volunteer service this week with the Hickory Hills Elders. We spent time at an organization called RESTORE and we helped to demolish old furniture. Fun times with a sledge hammer.
Kansas City is one of the places the Church has placed their GIVING MACHINES this year. The LIGHT THE WORLD effort is in full swing here in our area. It's been fun to serve in an area where the Church has such a positive presence.
Thanksgiving will be spent with our Zone. We are coming together for a huge luncheon and have been given permission to watch a Disney movie that day.
Our ward had a TURKEY SHOOT this week and we invited many less active members to attend. We actually had 4 people we invited come and we were pretty excited they would spend time with our ward family. We had a huge cookout of burgers and I was in charge of grilling 50 hamburgers. I guess I seasoned and cooked them pretty well since everyone raved about them. The next day in Ward Council they were still talking about the juicy hamburgers I grilled. LOL...I guess I did okay on my assignment!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I am grateful to be a full time missionary and serving in the Missouri Independence Mission. I'm grateful for good ward members who have become my friends who we laugh and have a great time with. I'm grateful for my parents who love and support me in all I do. I'm grateful for a loving Heavenly Father who knows my name and loves me. I'm grateful for the scriptures and the messages and truth found in them. I'm grateful for the Gospel of Jesus Christ, for my Savior and Redeemer.
