Busy, Successful WEEK

Image
Hey Everyone! What an amazing busy week we've had! We have had so much success in finding new people to teach and we are working hard to get all of our appointments every day.  This week we had exchanges with the Zone Leaders and I went with Elder Raventos who serves in the Cameron Stake about 1 1/2 hours away from our tiny town. It was the greatest and best experience to spend time serving the one the G.O.A.T. missionary like TOES (his nickname). We worked hard and had a great time. He is learning guitar and asked me to teach him a few things and I played several songs for him and he recorded it for the entire district and we had great positive feedback. What a neat human he is! So grateful for our service together.  Elder Hancock and I have been blessed this week in finding new people to teach. We are now teaching: Autumn, Wes, Joan, Amanda, Shauntea, James, Molly, another James, and Robert. Wow! Our days are filled with lots of appointments! We are looking forward to seeing...

QUARANTINE!

Image
Hey Everyone, We were exposed to positive COVID 19 cases this week and we had to quarantine all week. Both Elder Hancock and I had mild symptoms but never a fever. There were no COVID tests available in our area so we were asked by the mission nurse to stay home and quarantine. We were released from quarantine today and we are grateful to be back at it.  Since we were stuck in the house all day for the past week we were unable to visit any one or teach our investigators. We are still teaching Shauntea, Robert, James and Jeannie. We will reach out to them and hopefully they are well enough for a visit this week.  Church here in Three Forks was canceled yesterday due to a high number of positive COVID cases. Our ward is filled with 60 plus folks and everyone needs to be extra careful. We are grateful for several ward members who brought meals to us and left them on our front porch for us to grab. We were definitely taken care of during our quarantine.  We spent the week stu...

6 Month Mark And Lots Of Service

Image
Hey Everyone, This has been a busy week of serving others and chilly weather. We were able to help serve several ward members with moves and other service needs.  This week marked my 6 months serving as a full time proselyting missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints! What a blessing the past six months have been. The amazing mission I am serving in and the people that I've met and the companions that I've served with. I am grateful for all of the lessons and messages that I've taught so far and look forward to the next 18 months with joy and happiness and a heart willing to serve! Today we spent our P-Day doing service at the Bed and Breakfast in Bethany which is owned by Brother Howard and his wife Shauntea. After we did our service we were able to teach Shauntea lesson #4 The Commandments. Shauntea really loved the lesson and agreed with what was taught. She is continuing to progress and we feel positive she will be baptized.  We also helped Sister ...

REGULAR MISSIONARY WEEK!

Hello Everyone, Another week of hard work, prayer, and sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ! It's the best way to spend my days and my time, I'm so grateful for this opportunity! This week our ZONE went to the Kansas City Temple! It was an incredible experience and I am so grateful for the blessings and peace the temple brings to our lives. Because the temple is so far away, we had to travel the day before and stay the night with the Richmond Elders and then we all drove into Kansas City together. The Richmond Elder's live in an HOUSE (it was pretty cool--except there wasn't enough hot water) and it was great to stay with them. The traveling AP's made it out to the boonies and we had a BLITZ with them. I went with Elder Collins (who is a professional surfer...google his name...he's a beast). We had a great time and knocked a lot of doors--and grey dots (homes who have had visits from the Elder's in the past) in our area. We came across an older gentleman who h...

Miracle At The End Of The Day And Two Said YES To Baptism This Week

Image
Hello Everyone, What a wild week this had been! The weather turned super cold (below zero) and the snow fell from the sky and actually created such havoc on the roads in this small town that Church was canceled yesterday!  Teaching was tough this holiday week! Most of those we had made appointments with had canceled or asked us to come back after the new year. Yesterday, Elder Hancock and I fasted all day long. We had worked so hard and were so diligent in all of our efforts to find those to teach all week and we were getting pretty discouraged. We had one final lesson last night and it was with Jeannie (the lady with 2 dogs and 15 cats). We went to her home at our confirmed appointment time and she was there and we stood in her home for over two hours (because she doesn't have any place for us to sit) and taught her. We then invited her to be baptized and she said YES!!! We went back to our apartment and we both fell to our knees and thanked Heavenly Father for the Miracle at the ...
