Are You Willing To Read And Pray About The Book Of Mormon?
Hello Everyone,
The week was eventful and full of hard work. We had to drop several off our teaching list and we found a new investigator. Her name is Linda and she is a lawyer who grew up Catholic and converted to Christian Science 30 years ago. Linda was a referral and we actually had a great conversation with her. She has studied a lot of Christian religions and during our lesson I asked her if she was willing to read the Book of Mormon and pray about it. She sincerely said she would so I gave her a copy. We have a return appointment on Saturday to teach her again.
This week we had President interviews and I don't have many left with President Ames as his mission ends on June 30th.
We had District Leader exchanges and I stayed in my area and Elder Lund and I spent 24 hours working every angle of the area we could think of.
This week we worked at Hillcrest, a donation facility like Goodwill or the DI. We take the donations from the vehicles to the warehouse for sorting. We also spent time at a members home dumping and raking mulch.
We were fed well this week at members' homes and one family we had dinner with had a younger daughter who took the whole pan of dinner rolls and started to cut them in half. Her mom wasn't very happy with her and to divert the behavior her dad took his dinner roll and smashed it flat, buttered it and ate it without saying a word. We all laughed and kept the smashing and eating going the remainder of the meal. We ate smashed cake and ice cream. It was a fun night to remember.
We had an amazing lesson with Tamara and Karmen (who are roommates for the next few weeks). They are the ladies who walked up to me in a parking lot asking me who I was and what we did. We invited a ward member, Brother Wangsguard, to teach with us. Both of these ladies are already Christian and they are very receptive to the lessons we are teaching them. We covered the full Restoration lesson and look forward to teaching them again this week.
In Jeremiah 17:7 we read "Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is." We need to continue to move forward in our lives, always trusting in the Lord, Jesus Christ, that He knows what is best for us and our circumstances. We need to have hope that we will be blessed, and work toward strengthening our relationship with our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.
