New Car Smell Makes Me Sick
Hello Everyone,
We were given a brand new car to drive and the smell is really bad and has made me pretty sick. I've been in new cars before, but this is over the top with the strong stinky smells. No one wants a headache every time you get inside a car to drive anywhere. I'm able to roll the windows down, but hopefully the smell goes away soon. First world problems, I know.
We had a productive week and found some new people to teach. Several lessons were taught and many visits were made. Two of our investigators that are interested we will have to pass off to the YSA missionaries because they fall into that age range.
We spent time this week visiting and extending invitations to watch General Conference and attend our Easter Sunday services.
We performed service hours at the thrift store again this week and also had a ward member reach out to help move and haul some furniture.
We are being fed by the members and last night we ate a giant pizza made from scratch by the Steamblik's. Pretty impressive how big our pizzas were.
This week the Andrades invited us to lunch and it was nice to catch up with them and see how well they are doing. They are an amazing family and I am grateful I met them my first transfer out on my mission.
This week I met the bishop of the new ward I'm serving in. He had been out of town and it was nice to meet him. He gave us a list of names to stop by and visit. There are a lot of missionary minded members in this ward and so that's positive.
Today for P-day we were with the TIffany Springs elders and went to a nature walking trail and skipped rocks in a pond a few miles down the trail. We changed into our proselyting clothes and went to an outlet mall.
We also have worked hard these past two weeks to make contact with a man who was baptized in November, but then didn't show up at church the next day to be confirmed. We have tried every single day to reach him and we finally caught him at home this week. He just gave us the run around about the confirmation. We taught him the importance of completing the baptism process and to be counted as a member of record. It baffles us why he doesn't want the Gift of the Holy Ghost. I guess after 4 months of trying to make contact with him he must no longer be committed.
Jacob 3:1 says: "But behold, I, Jacob, would speak unto you that are pure in heart. Look unto God with firmness of mind, and pray unto him with exceeding faith, and he will console you in your affiliations, and he will plead your cause, and send down justice upon those who seek your destruction." What a powerful blessing it is to know God is on our side and He is looking out for us and we turn our hearts and minds towards HIm and keep the faith.
