Please Have Clothes On When You Open Your Front Door

Hey Everyone,

Happy Monday and the start of a new week of blessings and work. This past week we saw a lot of great mini miracles and it was very productive.

Elder Davis and I are sharing a message with ward members called FIRE FAMILY MISSION PLANS. We started with the Bishop and his family and are working around the ward. This week we were on our way to the Blake Family to share the MISSION plan when we saw a lady walking down the sidewalk and felt impressed to stop and talk with her. By the time I was able to safely find a place to pull over we got out of the car and she was not on the sidewalk anymore. We ran to see if there was another route she could have gone and saw a path so we started running down it and the lady was a little distance from us. We slowed down to a fast walk and when we were right behind her I took a deep breath to say hello and she turned around and screamed. She was startled and asked us if we had guns and we told her no. She immediately was relieved and smiled when we told her who we were. Her name is EMMIE and she talked with us for a bit and we gave her a Book of Mormon. She seemed genuinely happy to hear our brief message and to read the Book of Mormon. We made a follow up appointment for this week and are excited to teach her.

We went to visit PAT at her home and when I rang the doorbell her husband Dan comes to the door and cracks it open, sees it's us and says, "wait 2 seconds." Two seconds later the door swings wide open and there stands Dan butt naked. I turn and tell Elder Davis to wait before entering the house and he looks at me weird asking me why. I told him I'd tell him later (which I did and he was happy to have waited to avoid it). Dan heads to the bedroom and shuts the door. We then entered the house to find PAT and talk to her. PAT will need to move her Baptism date back because we would like her to come to Sacrament meeting again. She has met the requirement for baptism but hasn't been since she was in the accident. We feel like this is the best thing for her even though we know she loves the gospel and wants to be baptized.

While I was out on exchanges this week, Elder Davis and Elder Simmons met with KAREN and they had a great conversation. The lesson went well so we will continue to teach her. We dropped KEVIN unfortunately, and CHASE made the ultimate decision after being taught for over 1 1 /2 years about the Church that he is no longer interested in learning more. TONY is progressing and we had a few lessons with him this week. He is set to be baptized September 10th.  We dropped ERNST, KALVIN is on hold, and CANDANCE wasn't available to teach this week.

FELICIA came to church yesterday and she really enjoyed it. We approached her this week at a park and once she was at Church we learned that she actually resides just outside the ward boundaries so we had to turn her over to the KC3 ward. We found CAMMY and gave her a Book of Mormon. We have a return appointment this week with her. We also have several FB finds that we are teaching online.

I had exchanges with Elder Lee this week and it was the first time I was in the Blue Springs ward. We had several lessons fall through but got a lot done and found investigators on FB.

I recovered from COVID and got out of quarantine last Wednesday. I snapped a pic of a little quarantine beard that popped up one day while working from the apartment.

We will find out this weekend about the upcoming transfers. I will be happy to stay another transfer and will also be happy if it's time to be transferred.

Our district played mini golf today and we invited a new covert named Ryan to join us. It was a good time.

This week through my studies in the later chapters of Helaman I was reminded how many blessings were given to those people. I know that when we align our will with God's will that's when miracles happen.
