It Was A German Pancake Type Of Week
Hello Everyone,
Transfers were this week and Elder Chavez left for a new area. I sure appreciated serving with him and learning from him. I made him German Pancakes the morning of transfers to say thank you.
My new companion is Elder Stevens from Pocatello, ID. He is dying here with me in Longview Lake, Lees Summit, MO. He will head home after our transfer together, which means next transfer I'll get another new companion! I have enjoyed serving the past few days with Elder Stevens and look forward to our time together.
Our dear friend PAT who is loving and learning more and more about the gospel of Jesus Christ was in a freak accident on Saturday. She was walking and was hit by a car. She went down and couldn't get back up. She was taken to the hospital and checked out. PAT called us once she was at the hospital and we were able to go and give her a blessing. She is healing quickly and might need some physical therapy. She feels confident she can attend church on Sunday and hopefully she can. Her health and well being is our first concern. As of right now she is still scheduled for baptism on June 16th.
This week we helped a family move out of the ward. The youth of the ward were there and we worked to get the Parry family loaded.
If you caught my FB post this week you'll see us work with the Youth of our ward in a skit they put on for youth night last week.
We spent Memorial Day with our ward at the Lake having breakfast and playing spikeball with the youth. It was great to see so many our ward members attend, it was a good activity.
We continue to find new people to teach. Most are not willing to put in the work to learn more about Jesus Christ or read the Book of Mormon. We continue to work with many and will always share messages with those we meet.
The ward continues to feed and give us food. This ward is filled with great members. In fact, we scheduled a PDAY jam session with a very musical family in the ward named the Friedland's. Sister Friedland plays the drums, the daughter plays bass guitar and the son plays guitar. I brought my guitar and we played a few songs together. It was sure a fun way to spend a little time on PDAY.
Our weather has been cloudy and rainy this week. Makes for fun adventures while driving and the pouring rain is coming down in sheets.
This week 2 Nephi 26:24 was on my mind. It says: "He doeth not anything save it be for the benefit of the world; for he loveth the world, even that he layeth down his own life that he may draw all men unto him. Wherefore, he commandeth none that they shall not partake of his salvation." I know that God doesn't just do things without a reason behind it. God does things for us to learn, grow and become who He wants us to become.
