It Was A German Pancake Type Of Week

Image
Hello Everyone,  Transfers were this week and Elder Chavez left for a new area. I sure appreciated serving with him and learning from him. I made him German Pancakes the morning of transfers to say thank you.  My new companion is Elder Stevens from Pocatello, ID. He is dying here with me in Longview Lake, Lees Summit, MO. He will head home after our transfer together, which means next transfer I'll get another new companion! I have enjoyed serving the past few days with Elder Stevens and look forward to our time together.  Our dear friend PAT who is loving and learning more and more about the gospel of Jesus Christ was in a freak accident on Saturday. She was walking and was hit by a car. She went down and couldn't get back up. She was taken to the hospital and checked out. PAT called us once she was at the hospital and we were able to go and give her a blessing. She is healing quickly and might need some physical therapy. She feels confident she can attend church on Sund...

The Witness Comes After The Trial Of Your Faith

Hello Everyone,  I've had a great week and have seen the hand of God in our work. We spent a very busy and long P-day with our Zone at Top Golf, a museum, lunch at a 50's Diner. Great to spend the day with amazing missionaries. We found out this week that we have a crack in the bottom of our tub where we shower. We've waited patiently for maintenance to seal or repair the crack. They haven't done anything yet so we've had to shower at other Elders apartments that are 20 minutes one way...such a hassle.  Transfers are this week...Elder Chavez is leaving and I'm staying. We are sad to part so soon but I am super happy to be staying in Lees Summit and the Longview Lake Ward.  PAT is amazing and such an elect investigator. She reads and studies the Book of Mormon. She asks great spiritual and gospel related questions. She...

THE LORD LOVES EFFORT

Hey Everyone, We have moved up Pat's Baptism to one month from now. She's scheduled to be baptized on June 16th. Pat is reading, learning and growing in the gospel. She is motivated and elect. We are seeing her change and she's moving in the right direction. We will continue teaching her and answering all of her questions. Please pray for PAT as she continues to gain knowledge and enjoy the process of Church attendance. There are several others who we continue to reach out to and teach, but they are making their own decisions. We will always invite and teach when they are ready. We found a gal on FB and set up an appointment to meet her at a local park. She was 30 minutes late but we were able to talk to her for about an hour. Mariqus has had a pretty rough past 10 years. She is ready for peace in her life.  We placed a Book of Mormon with a gal named Lisa who was outside an apartment complex and she asked that we come back to teach her. We tried calling her later and didn...
