Temple, Exchanges, And Miracles
Hey Everyone,
This week we attended the Kansas City Temple and served in the Baptistry. I was able to both be baptized and baptize others. I also participated in the Confirmations. It was an amazing experience with our Zone. After the Temple we were able to visit some sites and the grave of a former apostle (pictures below).
I went on Exchanges with Elder Shipp this week. We spent the day tracting in Ridgeway (a small village) and it was amazing. We found two of the three miracles this week--Jordan and Amber. We will continue to meet with them in the coming weeks.
We had our usual District Council meeting and I just want to give a shout out to the G.O.A.T. district! They are some of the best missionaries I've been associated with thus far on my mission.
Elder Hancock and I found the third miracle this week--Starla. We are excited to continue to get to know her and teach her. We had an amazing lesson with James this week. The spirit was there and taught what we had prepared. We had a great conversation with him following the lesson and he told us he would love to be baptized. The very next day he called us asked that we no longer keep the appointments we had made with him. This was crushing to Elder Hancock and I but we know that the seeds have been planted and perhaps another set of Elders will tract him and he will be ready.
This week Elder Hancock and I tracted in Grant City and Bethany. I'm so glad to be assigned to an area of the mission where we are allowed to tract door to door. We found Tiffany and she mentioned that her husband Chris could be interested in hearing more of our message. We will visit him soon.
We have set new goals as a companionship to help us find new people daily, stretch our efforts and get continued practice in sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ. We are excited to continue reaching our goals.
Today we had a great Pday of visiting Adam Ondi Ahmen and being with our Zone to exercise together. We have to drive such far distances to get anywhere and some PDays all we do is drive where we need to be and accomplish as much as we can.
If you have the chance this week, check out this talk by President Thomas S. Monson, "Blessings of the Temple". One of my favorite quotes from the talk says: "As we attend the temple, there can come to us a dimension of spirituality and a feeling of peace which will transcend any other feeling which could come into the human heart. We will grasp the true meaning of the words of the Savior when He said:
“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you. … Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”1
Such peace can permeate any heart—hearts that are troubled, hearts that are burdened down with grief, hearts that feel confusion, hearts that plead for help."
