“Good Riddance: Hope You Had The Time Of Your Life Elder Hancock”

Image
Hey Everyone, Yea...that title isn't being mean in any way! It's tough to say goodbye to such an amazing companion. Transfers are this week and Elder Hancock is going and I am staying. So, it's hard to say goodbye to such a great friend and companion.  Super busy and great week here in the Three Forks Ward. We put JEANNIE on book for Baptism last night. She thinks her leg infection will be healed by May so we have her on book for May 9th! Most likely I won't even be serving here but it's okay as long as she is baptized! We also found three new investigators: JOHN, CHEYENNE and MAGDALENA. We taught them this past week and we will continue to teach them in the next few days. Cheyene and Magdalena are sisters and they have so many questions that it has been great teaching them because they are asking good basic solid questions. John is a single father or 3 daughters and he is taking it slow and has enjoyed hearing our messages. We are continuing to share messages with ...

Temple, Exchanges, And Miracles

Image
Hey Everyone, This week we attended the Kansas City Temple and served in the Baptistry. I was able to both be baptized and baptize others. I also participated in the Confirmations. It was an amazing experience with our Zone. After the Temple we were able to visit some sites and the grave of a former apostle (pictures below).  I went on Exchanges with Elder Shipp this week. We spent the day tracting in Ridgeway (a small village) and it was amazing. We found two of the three miracles this week--Jordan and Amber. We will continue to meet with them in the coming weeks.  We had our usual District Council meeting and I just want to give a shout out to the G.O.A.T. district! They are some of the best missionaries I've been associated with thus far on my mission.  Elder Hancock and I found the third miracle this week--Starla. We are excited to continue to get to know her and teach her. We had an amazing lesson with James this week. The spirit was there and taught what we had prep...

I HELD A PUPPY

Hey Everyone, Today is our official P-Day this week and we are going to the temple this morning. More on that in next week's letter. It has been super cold here the past few days, We are constantly in the lower single digits and with the wind chill we do our best to stay a little warm when we are outside.  Elder Hancock continues to heal and we have altered our daily schedule a little to accommodate for his recovery. He's doing great and we have been out and about teaching and serving and helping ward members this week.  We recently had an older gentleman move into our ward who loves Family History. We found out that the closest Family History library is in Bethany and so we went there and spent time finding names and learning a little more about how we can help ward members with their own family history.  We stopped by the Bed and Breakfast that is being renovated by a ward member and his wife who we are teaching. We occasionally help them out and get service hours in. T...

A Birthday. A Surgery. A Grounded Fleet. A Zone Conference.

Hey Everyone,  Happy Birthday to me today! Spending my 19th birthday out on the mission has been incredible and enjoyable. Thank you to those who wished me a happy birthday! This week we had Zone Conference and interviews with President Ames. It was a great experience and I learned a lot. I always enjoy sitting and talking with President Ames. Following Zone Conference in Cameron on Tuesday, we traveled to St. Joseph and stayed with Elder Garn and Elder Hunt at their apartment for a few days. My companion, Elder Hancock, needed a minor surgery and staying with them allowed me to be with other missionaries while Elder Hancock had surgery. Everything went smoothly for him and he has spent the remainder of the week resting and recovering. We traveled home Thursday and have been taking it easy so Elder Hancock can fully heal.  Because of major snow and ice storms traveling through the midwest our entire fleet of cars in our mission were grounded most of the week. We were not allow...
