A Fruitful Week!

Hello Everyone,

This week has been so fruitful! It's amazing what the Spirit can do when everyone strives to live closely to it. Our prayers have been answered! Our ward member's prayers have been answered, and we are working hard toward reaching our goal of 8 baptisms in 2021!

#PRAYFOREIGHT Update:

This week we met a lot of people and our teaching pool went from small to large. We did have a couple of missionary miracles occur as we found two elect people to teach this week, Carroll and Luis.

Elder Montoya and I were walking in the park and we met Luis. We stopped and started to talk to him. Luis starts to tell us that he was just sitting in the park thanking Jesus for getting him out of his alcohol addiction and he was looking for another sign that Jesus Christ's hand was in his life when we walked up. We acknowledged that he was sincerely looking for guidance and we shared a message with him and taught him about the Restoration and the Book of Mormon. He asked if he could attend Church with us. We really hope that we can continue to teach Luis and see where this goes.

We met Carroll after searching our area directory book. We had her number and ended up going to her apartment (which is literally the building next to ours) and teaching her on her doorstep. We talked to her about the Book of Mormon and gave her a copy to read. The best news is that she came to Church yesterday! And, she really enjoyed attending! We are so happy that we were able to have Carroll attend Church because afterward she shared with us that she felt the Spirit during the Sacrament and decided to stay and attend Relief Society. She made friends with Sandy Reeves in the ward who we asked to drive her. We called Carroll later last night and the first thing she said was: "Do you have Sandy Reeves phone number?" We are grateful for the guidance of the Spirit and the fellowship that our ward members are showing those we are reaching out to and teaching.

We also have a baptism date with a gal named Chelsea. She is working and progressing as we continue to teach her. Hopefully things continue moving forward.

This week has been grinding with a lot of work...that's not unusual for missionaries. Today for P-Day we had a lot of fun and went to Top Golf. Also, as a side note, I am starting to learn French, for no particular reason other than I believe it is a beautiful language.

My first transfer is almost completed and I will be staying in the Overland Park 1st ward and Elder Montoya will continue to be my trainer.
