SO…WE GOT IN AN ACCIDENT!

Hey! This email is going to be a bit short because the week was not very fruitful, and we've been super busy today trying to get everything done.

I need to give a SHOUT OUT to the members of the OP1st ward! This week we had amazing meals and ate lots of lovely food. Brother Dubreuil (a member of our ward) introduced us to this suuuuuuper spicy ginger drink that is absolutely fire (see picture at the end of the email).

#PRAY FOR EIGHT update: We found a guy named Richard, but we've only been able to talk to him once. We are hoping to get into contact again and share an additional message with him.

As for our teaching pool, it's unfortunately been getting smaller and smaller. We had to drop some people, one of which was Henser, who was on date for baptism.

Alex moved...so we had to remove him from our teaching pool. Zamo is a nanny for a family here. The host family isn't interested in having us around, but Zamo reaches out to us by text and we are continuing to share messages with her.

We were supposed to have a baptism with Margaret but we weren't able to make contact with her all week so we decided to stop by her home one more time. Before we went to her home we got a Book of Mormon in Swahili and Elder Montoya and I each took a blank page in the front of the book and hand wrote our testimonies. We felt prompted to find a Swahili Book of Mormon since this is Margaret's first language. We went to her apartment and knocked on her door. We knocked three times, and no answer. With heavy hearts we placed the Swahili Book of Mormon by her shoes that we always saw in front of her little apartment door, and walked away in silence.

We met Dwayne's wife, Stephanie, at their home and had a 45 minute door chat with her. We answered a lot of questions and I shared my testimony with her before we left.

We also had a District Training meeting this week! District Training are short lessons for missionaries. Elder Montoya and I did a "Fire Training" on how to extend a good baptismal invitation. I was also assigned to teach a training on the wonderful topic of LOCK YOUR HEART! Basically this means that as missionaries we must focus on the work and put our other desires on hold for the brief time we are in the field serving.

Oh yeah and we got in an accident! Really just a little swap of paint from one car to another. Elder Montoya and I were in our car in a parking lot and we were waiting for the Elders from another ward who needed a ride in our car. While we were waiting a lady backed into our car. Once we all jumped out she said her kids were distracting her and she was sorry. We had to write an accident report and call the Elder over the missionary cars. He was funny and said perhaps that gal should have a backup person to help her back out of parking spots. If you don't understand that, out here in the mission field one missionary is the driver and the other is the "back up" missionary who stands behind the car whenever the car is being backed up. It helps to ensure accidents don't happen. I'm the backup missionary right now! LOL!

Hope you all are doing well and having a great day!
