Week One Done Already?!

Wow guys, it has been an awesome week! it was definitely a bit more exhausting than I thought it would be but it's manageable. I am so grateful to finally be on my mission and meet some new friends! Monday went pretty slow, but the rest of the week was a blur!

My teachers are so cool, and I have the most awesome district and can only speak good words of these awesome people! I got the best companion anyone could ask for haha he is basically me! At the end of the week, I think it's safe to say that this is more than a district. We're a group of friends and a family, and I think it's so cool what the Spirit can do to people when they just allow it to come in! I absolutely cannot wait to see these guys in person.

On Monday I started MTS at home, and will be here for Monday, but on Tuesday we have an off day so everyone can get to Provo. The first day alone was amazing. The first meeting was called "Welcome to the Work", and it was very enlightening. They showed us pictures of people when they left on their mission vs. when they got back. I'm only one week into my mission and already I feel so much happier than last week! The Lord can bless you when you are in His service.

On Tuesday we learned about the missionary purpose in Preach My Gospel. our goal was to memorize it, and haha ummm I almost got it down. we also learned that we are doing this work solely to bring people unto Christ. We learned about goal setting and how important it is to plan. One of our teachers taught us the GPS method:

Goal

Plan

Schedule

Some good steps to keep in mind when making goals.

We also asked ourselves the question: How can we love as Jesus loves? We can do our best to keep His standards and commandments. we don't hafta be perfect; it's ok to slip up. Remember that the most expensive pearl is often the most imperfect one.

On Wednesday we talked about appearance and how we should keep our attitude. We should look nice because we are representing the Lord, and we should always be happy! Be Christlike not just while wearing his name.

Thursday we thought about our strengths and how we can use them to further God's work. He gave us these talents for a reason!

On Friday my companion taught a TRC lesson to a nice woman named Sabrina, and we did okayyyyyyy. not bad for our first time, I will say that. But hey that's what we're here for! Like I always tell my district, it's the missionary TRAINING center, not the missionary EXPERT center haha.

  • I have a lot of highlights from this week, but my favorite parts HAVE to be:

  • hanging out on the unscheduled google meet calls after out day ends with the district

  • Me starting "jazz hands when you feel the Spirit"

  • and Me falling out of my chair on more than one occasion in the meets

Well, that was my week, It was so awesome and I can't wait for next week! Family and friends, I am so happy to know you all!
