CHRISTMAS AND A NEW CAR!

Image
Hello Everyone! I hope all of you had an amazing Christmas! My first Christmas in the mission field was so good! I felt peace and happiness as we celebrated Jesus Christ's birth. Thank you to those who sent me a Christmas package, I loved what you sent and appreciate you.  Today for Pday we had a district Nerf Gun war at the stake center in Trenton. It is an hour and half away from home but this is where our district meets. Because we have an all Elder district it was actually super fun to get a little crazy today. All of the Elders came ready to play and it was one of the best Pday's I've had since I've been out.  This past week we had a great Zone Conference and President Ames showed us a movie BYU made about the story behind the song SILENT NIGHT. It was pretty interesting and I enjoyed it. We had a Zone Conference party and then took our traditional Zone Conference picture with President and Sister Ames. It was good to see so many missionary friends and catch up wit...

Tornado And Adam-Ondi-Ahman

Image
Hey Everyone, What a wild week I've had. I've never been through such  severe Tornado weather in my life and it was an interesting experience to witness how pitch dark our sky was. Wednesday we had a severe Tornado Warning and it was raining, and the wind was howling and golf sized hail fell from the sky. The power went out and we received word from our Mission President to take shelter at a members house. Elder Hancock and I drove through the storm to the Wall family in our ward and they graciously allowed us to stay with them through the storm. The tornado didn't touch down in our area and we are grateful for the safety and protection we had.  This week we also had the sacred experience of visiting Adam-Ondi-Ahman. What a peaceful place this is. A simple wide stretched field with nothing really to indicate the sacredness of that land. We stood and enjoyed the view at Tower Hill which overlooks the Valley of Adam-Ondi-Ahman.  With such severe weather and cold temperature...

Three Forks Ward And Elder Hancock

Image
Hey Everyone,  Well...I'm officially in my second area and third companion since starting my mission 5 months ago. At transfers Thursday I was assigned to the Three Forks Ward in Albany, MO, and my new companion is Elder Hancock. Albany is a small, remote town of 1,700 people. Yes, you read that right, 1,700 people. I thought Spring Creek, NV was small...this is the smallest spot in the country I've ever experienced. I am in the Far West Zone and we are told it is the most remote area in the mission. We are also at the edge of the mission and state of MO boundaries and border up to Iowa. My companion is AMAZING! Elder Hancock is pretty much a mirror of me! Haha! He has been out only one transfer longer than me. He loves being a missionary and works hard, long days. He loves music, making music and is epic on the guitar. Yes, we've already had a jam session or two...he's great! It was awesome to meet up with so many of my friends at the Stake Center during transfers and ...

Temple Trip And Transfers

Image
Hey Everyone, First of all, I apologize for not sending out a weekly email last week. We had the opportunity to attend the Kansas City Temple and our Mission President asked us to switch our P-Day's to our temple attendance day and we were pretty busy after that and I wasn't able to send anything out.  So much has happened and I'll briefly catch you up. We spent Thanksgiving Dinner with the Dubrielle's in our ward. It was a great meal and we appreciate them for having us over.  As I mentioned before Kansas City is one of the places where the GIVING MACHINES are located this year. It has been a great opportunity to invite people to give locally and also help those around the world. As missionaries we were given a LIGHT THE WORLD red shirt and hat that we can wear. We are not allowed to wear our missionary name tags if we are at the GIVING MACHINES. Kansas City Chiefs NFL football coach, Andy Reid and his family gave a great message and invited all Chief fans to go to the...
